Silverstone 17th October 2009
After qualifying on pole, Ian managed to take the lead by the end of lap 1! Unfortunately, due to Mike Scotts pace at Silverstone, Ian slipped back to second by the end of lap 2.
Trying hard lap after lap, Ian could not quite catch Mike, to settle for a second place finish.

Ian finished second overall in the Championship this year...and is now looking forward to regaining next year!

Brands Hatch 13th September
The day went very well for Ian, achieving P2 in practice, dropping to third at the race start but moving
into the lead from lap 5. Ian drove well and pulled out a lead of about 5 seconds before cruising to
the flag !!!!

The next and last race of the season for Ian is Silverstone on the 17th October. Being the last race of the championship and still
5 points adrift, it's a long shot now but Ian is confident of a good finish.
The Snetterton gearbox problems have proved costly !!

Oulton Park 30th August
Ian entered two races at Oulton Park - one dry and one wet. In the first (dry) race Ian started from second and went straight to the front. For the next 11 laps he had to battle hard to keep Geoff Farmer behind. Many times he tried to pass but Ian held him off. The crowd loved it as it was the best race of the day. Mike Scott finished third.
In the second race some of the French F3 cars who raced with us were allowed to run wet tyres so two of them got ahead of me as did Geoff. Fourth was best Ian could do.

Snetterton 31st May 2009
The day started well with beautiful weather, warm to say the least!
Ian had a great practice session qualifying in P2.
The weather just kept getting better for the start of the race...but for Ian a broken gearbox case on the line caused an early retirement from the race.

Silverstone 9th May 2009
Qualifying on pole again, Ian was in a great position for the race. Unfortunately Ian dropped to 4th on the first corner after a poor start. Mike Scott roared into the lead whilst Ian battled for many laps to regain 2nd. By this time, Mike Scott had already opened enough of a lead to make him impossible to catch.
Ian finished in 2nd place only 5 seconds behind Mike, so a good deal of ground was made up. The win was also first in Ian's class.

Donington Park - 5th April 2009
Off to a great start in qualifying, Ian soon raced ahead towards what looked like an easy pole position. Several laps into qualifying, the Brabham developed an issue which led to pulling out of the session early.
The engineers worked on Ian's car to get him into the race, starting from second place.
After only 2 laps Ian took the lead, only later to develop the same mechanical gremlins that plagued qualifying.
Ian lost the lead, then soon after lost second place. Fortunately he managed to limp the car home in third place.
